Some experience with sewing is recommended.

We form the felt with steam, which can be difficult for sensitive fingers.

Objective: At the end of the course, the participants will have made their own felt hat and have a basic knowledge in shaping and finishing in felt material.

Day one:
Introduction of different types of felts, hats, hatblocks, measurements and techniques. Planning the hat. Blocking the felt on wooden blocks using steam.

Day two:
We will go over different finishes and decorations and finish our projects

Anna Gulla and Harper are master milliners currently in residency at the Design Museum.
