What can be found swimming around under the surface at your pool?
A swimming pool workshop at the museum with Rán Flygenring, illustrator on Sunday the 4th of september.
Families and friends are encouraged to come together and create a swimmingpool out of a shoebox.
Admission is free for participants and all materials available at the museum.

On the International museums day (18th of may), the Museum of Design wants to give its guests a gift, in the form of a Bathing journey.

The gift can be "opened" on our social media and also here: https://sundferdir.com/ 

The gift contains three specially designed bathing journeys in relation to our exhibition Sund. Bathing culture, which is currently on display at the museum. The three journeys are in the Westfjords, the West coast and along the South coast of Iceland. There is a road map on the website that suggests the best way to travel between the different pools. Also there is a short text with information about each pool.

Om Tuesday, 29. march, Unnur Valdís Kristjánsdóttir and Omer Shenar will give a talk at the Museum of Design.

Unnur is the designer of Flothetta, an aquatic bodyworker and a yoga teacher. Omar lives and works in Israel as a rehabilitative hydrotherapist. They will talk about the history of water therapy and why water is so well suited for rehabilitation and nourishing for body and soul. They will talk about how their passon for water led to collaboration in creating a professional, Float Therapy.


The talk will be in English and Icelandic.
Admission to the museum applies.
