The Museum of Design and Applied Art is preparing a retrospective of Steinunn Marteinsdóttir’s ceramic works. Steinunn, who lives and works on her art at Hulduhólar in Mosfellsbær, has had a very long and prosperous career and has for a long time been renowned for her elegant yet various contributions to Icelandic ceramic art. Steinunn’s works can be found in many places, including public museums and private collections in Iceland and abroad.

As part of preparations for the exhibition we kindly ask individuals and families that own ceramics by Steinunn to contact the museum so that her works can be sufficiently catalogued. Despite the wide variety of her works, her ceramics are easily identifiable as they are usually marked SM, S Mart or Steinunn.
