Blue Lagoon recently donated an Icelandic ceramic collection to the Icelandic Museum of Design and Applied Art. Comprised of a diverse array of ceramic art, the collection represents the work of Icelandic artists, as well as international artists who worked in Iceland.

Consisting of 1500 pieces dating from the dawn of Icelandic ceramic art in the 1930s up to the present day, the collection had been privately owned. With pieces by Gudmundur frá Middal and Listvinahúsid, Ragnar Kjartansson, Funa, Hauk Dór, Steinunn Marteinsdóttir, Kogga, Kristín Ísleifsdóttir, and Dieter Roth, it is safe to say that the rich history of Icelandic ceramics can be told through this collection.
