The aim of the project is to raise awareness of consumption and the amount of clothing that is being donated to The Red Cross. What happens to these items? What kind of information are imbedded in one ton of clothing? How can design add value to this material? These and questions are among many that the group will look into during the next few weeks during their residency in the museum.
The project is a collaboration between the Red Cross, The Icelandic Arts Academy, University of Iceland and The Icelandic Textile centre. The project is sponsored by The Student Innovation Fund.
